Five-Lined Ribbon Worm
Baseodiscus quinquelineatus
The largest free-living worm in the sea is the ribbon worm. But for all their size, this is the first one I have seen here.
This one was around 1 metre long, and I found it under an old plank of wood. Apparently it can extend a sharp sticky proboscis out of it’s head to spear it’s food.
Another truely bizarre critter from Lembeh
